Lisbon – April 2018

This was a work trip where I flew over to join the EMEA Project Support team for their working-week. A technical get-together to share knowledge and ideas. I always love visiting Lisbon, and this time there was a great evening event getting out on the water, a very nice team meal in Cascais – and a bonus, I stayed on over the weekend and Alice joined me from the UK. First, out and about near the hotel and offices – Hotel Tivoli Oriente.

The Periodic Table is famously used for our team group photos when we meet near there, in the days when travel from the US was still a thing… The evening event out on a catamaran was epic! Going under the Ponte 25 de Abril was amazing. This bridge has the same design and designer as the Golden Gate Bridge – as you can no doubt see. I also loved seeing the old town from the water – such amazing colours.

Got a train to Sintra with Alice on the Saturday, after meeting her at the airport Friday evening and eating at the hotel.

The next day was wet for part of the day – so headed to the aquarium (and found Alice does not like aquariums…). Also got over to Belém too once things dried out.
