Road Trip 2018 – New Zealand – Dunedin and Oamaru

We used out Airbnb just outside Dunedin as a base to see the Southeast coast and specifically the peninsula. Some great beaches, penguins and generally amazing scenery.

Seeing the fairy penguins was certainly one of the many highlights of the trip. The next day we saw a few more, as we visited Moeraki and Oamaru, where there was a colony. The smell of a penguin nest is like sticking your head over a bottle of 0.880 Ammonia… The rocks at Moeraki were well worth the trip. Lunch was split between Tees Street Cafe and Scott’s Brewery. Back down to Dunedin and St Clair Beach for dinner at the Starfish Cafe and Bar.

The following day our plans took a hit, as snow arrived…
