I had the best mussels ever at The Captain’s Daughter in Havelock, on route from Abel Tasman Nation Park to Picton. We also went over the Rabbit Island near Nelson. Picton was to be our base to take in the Queen Charlotte Sound and Marlborough Wine Country for the next few days.

Marlborough came next, with a wine tour to Villa Maria, Brancott, Spy Valley (favourite Sauvignon Blanc!) Cloudy Bay. and I think one other. Nautilas? Too much wine!

Queen Charlotte Sound Track was the destination next day, for a hike along the Sound and afternoon tea with a view.

More of Queen Charlotte Sound the following day, as we left the South Island and headed across the Cook Strait to Wellington – and our last night in New Zealand.

Dinner at Frenchie, our last evening, was most pleasant!
