Sonoma County and Northern California Coast

We flew down to Sonoma County Airport, grabbed coffee in Windsor at Cafe Noto and had a look around the town before heading up to Montagne for lunch just outside Healdsburg. A walk to stretch our legs round the All the Oaks trail, then back into Healdsburg for dinner at Vallette and out hotel – H2. Loved the shadows in the corridors!

The next day we took a drive up to Lake Sonoma and onward up the Rockpile Road – where some of our favourite Zins start their lives, a short trail at Grey Pines too. Lunch at Rustic at Francis Ford Coppola then dinner at Chalkboard, after sampling wines at Seghesio and Thumbprint (again).

The next day we took the 128 across to the coast, taking in Mendocino Headlands, Blowhole Trail and Fort Bragg. Overnight back to Mendocino, where we caught the sunset at the headland.

South down the coast to Bodega Bay, taking in Arena Point, Bowling Ball Beach, lunch at Stewarts Point and a visit to Fort Ross and getting some B&W vibes. Sunset and stars from our hotel, The Lodge at Bodega Bay.

Out to the Headlands at Bodega Bay the following morning, then headed back over to Santa Rosa and the airport, after lunch at Baked by the River.
