This trip started with a drive down to Florence, picking up snacks at a favourite sandwich spot in McMinnville, The Great Harvest Bread Co. Managed to spot some whales too, we hit the coast.

The following day was all along the coast, ending up in Ferndale

Sea Ranch was the next evenings stop, but took in some of the historic buildings in Ferndale first, and a very pleasant breakfast at Trish’s Out-of-the-way Cafe – which was worth going out of one’s way for!

The following day we continued along the coast to Fort Ross, then headed inland to Healdsburg, lunching at Stumptown Brewery, a wine tasting late afternoon at Seghesio, then a fine dinner at The Matheson.

After a day’s wine tasting in Healdsburg, enjoying Rockpile and Thumbprint wines, the following morning we headed East, over to Lake Tahoe.

From Lassen we headed North to Ashland and back into Oregon, but not before taking in some more wonderful scenery in Lassen Volcanic National Park.

A day in Ashland, visited the Shakespeare Festival and walked around the town.

Then further North, with the perfect weather at Crater Lake, and sunset at Big Obsidian, before arriving at Bend and dinner at the Brewery!

The final day took us through the Painted Hills and Toppenish National Wildlife Refuge
