First visit to this local Botanical Garden, with the possibility of seeing some of the San Francisco Airshow too, with views over to Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge. Easy to spot the United 777, but even the C5 Hercules was just a spot from this distance. I had my ‘plant lens’ on too – 50mm Zeiss Touit Macro, so wasn’t going to get zoomed in pictures either.
The gardens were beautiful, not much fall colour, with the Japanese Gardens just on the point of turning, and just a small part of this collection. Plenty more to see on subsequent trips through the seasons.

I love the symmetry of these succulents.

The rose garden had a beauty even though the roses weren’t in full flower, with many past their best this year but still with something to offer.

I was mesmerized by these grasses.

At the back of the Mediterranean garden offered the best viewing spot over the city to the Bridge, with the 777 at around 300ft headed over to fishermen’s wharf.

We revisited the Japanese Gardens towards the end of the visit, to catch some reflections.

The views all around captured every green you could imagine.

We couldn’t forget Halloween isn’t far off, with the food gardens showcasing many edible varieties.

Probably my favourite picture of the trip, these Aloe leaves, and the beauty of the shapes and textures.

A final few snaps, then down to the parking lot near the Lawrence Hall of Science for some last views over the city.
