Unfortunately, the lighthouse was closed, so couldn’t get right to the end of Point Bonita but still some excellent views back towards San Francisco and Golden Gate Bridge, as well as the waves breaking to the Western side of this peninsula.
You could still go a fair way down (steep walk back up!) and get a different perspective and cool views of the birds and seals in the Bay.
The last shot above looking over to Land’s End, and the windmills of Ocean Beach can be seen too. Going North from the car park takes you up to a view of Bird Island – and also a view over Rodeo Beach, and a peek of the lighthouse back to the South.
Battery Mendell is also part way to the viewing for Rodeo Beach and Bird Island – and looked the perfect location for some creepy mystery.
A final view of the City and Bridge as I walked back to the car park, taking in some of the grasses and pine trees on the way.
