Finally catching up on my blog posts… And a clear day in January 2025 felt like the right excuse for a walk up Mt Diablo, and the light didn’t disappoint — one of those winter days where the air’s clean enough to see for miles.
Started out around midday, working up through the park with the hills still holding onto some of that post-rain green before summer turns everything gold.
The higher you climb, the more of the Bay comes into view — a good reminder of how much height, and how much view, is sitting right on the doorstep.
By mid-afternoon the light had shifted enough to pick out a bit more detail on the far ridgelines.
A short one in the end, but a good reminder that some of the best views around are barely an hour from home.
