Back to the Mt Tam Watershed, this time down Cataract Falls Trail — one of the few spots in the Bay Area with a proper year-round waterfall, and worth catching while there was still decent flow left from the spring rains. Camera and phone both along for this one.
The trail follows the creek most of the way, so it’s a steady run of small cascades and pools rather than one big dramatic drop — the kind of place where you end up stopping every few minutes for another shot.
Working up through the late morning, the trail rising steadily alongside the water the whole way. A good workout!
By midday the trail had opened out a bit, less dense canopy and more light getting through.
A last couple of shots to close out the walk before heading back.
Short, steady, and a proper waterfall at the end of it — one of the better easy hikes on the mountain.
